Giving you the keys to freedom

Tired of your dad accidentally “guest starring” in the background of your Teams calls? Bored of your parents third-wheeling your relationship every Friday night?

Let’s be honest, the property market often feels like it’s designed to keep you out. We decided that was ridiculous. The property market loves to tell you that you’re “locked out” or “priced out,” but we’re here to tell you to turn off the news.

We built Square Roots to give Londoners a real, achievable pathway to owning a home through Shared Ownership.

Opening the door to independence

Our last venture was all about helping you to ignore the noise and write your own headline. Today, we’re handing you the pen, and the keys. The Keys to Freedom isn’t about a mortgage agreement; it’s about the first time you walk through your own front door and realise no one is going to ask where you’re going or when you’ll be back.

When we asked you to “Write Your Own Headlines”, you told us that independence was the goal, not just a postcode. You were tired of feeling like you needed a six-figure salary just to have a front door you could close on the world, and we listened.

What’s available to you

Whether you’re a lifelong Londoner looking for a new perspective or you’re finally ready to trade your parents’ spare room for your own front door, we’ve got a spot for you.

From the riverside chill of Kingston and the vibrant new community in Hendon, to our award-winning, apartments in Lewisham and the upcoming launch in Crayford, Square Roots builds where you actually want to live.

Backed by over £300,000,000 of investment and in partnership with the Mayor of London, we prioritise the feeling of home over dry specs and figures. We’ve already helped thousands of people rewrite their stories with lower deposits and manageable repayments, proving that independence isn’t a “forever home” in the distant future – it’s a reality you can unlock today.

The non-boring breakdown of Shared Ownership

Our approach to Shared Ownership is simple: it’s about making the “London Dream” a reality by lowering the hurdles that usually stand in your way. Instead of waiting decades to save a massive deposit for a 100% mortgage, we give you the keys to your freedom much sooner.

You buy a share of your home (starting at 25%) and pay subsidised rent on the rest. This means a smaller deposit and lower monthly costs. Move in with a deposit from as little as £3,656 (based on a 25% share of a £292,500 home). You can ‘staircase’ over time, increasing your ownership up to 100%.

Your space. Your rules. Your freedom.

True freedom isn’t just about a change of address; it’s about the progress of moving into a space that is entirely your own. It’s the independence of closing your own front door and knowing that every choice, from the colour of the walls to the Spotify playlist in the kitchen, belongs to you.

You have the power to stop renting for life and start creating your own future. The Keys to Freedom are closer than you think, and we’re here to help you unlock them.

Come see us in person!

Ready to turn off the news and start your own story? Square Roots will be at the London Home Show 2026. Come and meet our award-winning team, explore our latest developments, and see exactly how Shared Ownership can work for you. It’s time to stop scrolling and start planning your move.

See you there!
